- Cleaned the screen really well and did my best to ensure dust was not moving around the car. There\'s always loose particles around and it wouldn\'t be a problem if the screen protector didn\'t have to constantly be repositioned to fit. I wish I would have been told that it doesn’t cover the whole screen and leaves a considerable uneven edge as well. I could have used that to position it better. The cut on the two screen protectors I got were different. There is only one sticker on #2 (usually you use these to position the protector and there is typically two of them) so you cannot guide the protector. #2 is instead used to just remove the covering. When removing the covering the edges will lift up. Exposing the adhesive to more dust. The dust removers also suck. The size is small for such a large screen. Phone screen protectors get a better dust remover than this. The instructions tell you to apply one edge and work the bubbles out. This way does not work well for ensuring the alignmentis accurate the first time. And will guarantee a failed install. If I could choose again I would not buy this. I would go for a glass that has two tabs for aligning, better dust removal tabs and better screen cleaning wipes.
- I’ve bought different screen protector for the Model S before. The previous one I had was glossy. It was fine, but I saw a picture online of someone with a Model 3’s screen using a matte screen protector.I started my search and realized that there aren’t many options for matte screens for the Model S. So I was totally excited when I stumbled across this. Even better, it include protectors for the instrument cluster as well. Good, because the screens should match, so that make sense.The installation was not fun. There isn’t any explicit instructions, and honestly, because of the size, I would say it’s moderately difficult to get it right with one person.What I would recommend is using painters tape, tape the protector on the side and position it how you’d want it to sit. Because the protector isn’t completely edge to edge. My first go, I didn’t take my time, and just threw it on there. It wasn’t until that it was on, I realized how nice it looks! Thankfully the kit includes two sets.The next day, I did the above mentioned method to install it proper. It looks sleek and clean! No more glare, and when the screen is on, you cannot see visible prints. Obviously with the screen off, prints are there. But usability is way nicer with this! Hugely recommended.
