Garmin Marine swivel mounting bracket (replacement)
- I have a GPSMap 498 whose bracket broke after 11 years of use. I spoke with Garmin and asked for a replacement bracket - they told me they no longer make a bracket for this model GPS ... in essence the have orphaned their product (you can\'t find it here, ebay or anywhere online). On a whim, I purchased this bracket (which is too big for the 498 by 3/8inc) and padded one side with some rubber washers whose ID is 1/4 inch (I had to cut the washers in order to wrap them around the support rod). This worked very well.
- Bracket fits perfectly. Is as advertised, BUT there is a second locking knob on the original that is not on the replacement. That is why 4 instead of 5 stars. It was as advertised but not totally what I wanted.

- I like that it fits the base I have in my boat for my 4\". Now I can still use that as a spare if I have an issue with my 545s.
- I thought this was for a 4xx series i was wrong.... Good product, seems sturdy enough, I am keeping it because I may upgrade to a 5xx in the future
