This is the tiniest IPEX (aka u.fl) antenna I could find for my volume-constrained stratum 0 RTC project. It works as advertised, but may not be a good match if your project is indoors and requires fixes from multiple satellites.I\'m using it to set an accurate TCXO RTC module in an unattended location (repeater shack), so an occasional time fix is sufficient. I am only able to pull in about 2 satellites when they are directly overhead. I switched to the larger 15mm active and it instantly finds 12. I am using this on a uBlox8 so it may need an active antenna instead of a passive. Was hoping to get away with something tiny.
Works great, still tracking 12 sats inside a tin building (as long as they were acquired outside.)
It turned out that I could not use the antenna for my particular application. However, that was not the fault of the antenna. Prior to returning it as part of my standard process I conducted a thorough inspection of the antenna, particularly the cable ends. Attachments appeared to be high quality and I saw no reason why this antenna would not work perfectly.I recommend this product.
