• I attached the unit to the right side handlebar on my motorcycle, and power it from the DIN plug receptacle. I am able to simply attach/plug in, the Garmin 66i inReach, and it tracks my location wherever I ride, and provides the TRACK, to my family back home.
• I had purchased this dock to mount on my 690 Enduro to ride the TAT. About 10 days in I started getting disconnection warnings on my Garmin, which started getting more and more frequent. Eventually I found that the pogo pins in the dock were basically acting as a slide hammer and mechanically deformed the contacts on my Garmin 66i. This did put a dampner on the trip as now I had another thirsty device to charge at night.I don\'t know if the 66i or the dock is at fault for this. I had the dock exchanged, no word if this is an isolated incident with my 66i or not.
• Great mount with power USB.
• Does what it\'s supposed to do.Holds the 66i very secure.
• Doesn’t come with the connections necessary to mount. Waste of money.
• The mount felt and looked great upon first use.However, after using it for 30minutes on my dualsport dirt bike, it separated from the RAM Ball Adapter AMPS Plate it was bolted onto. The mount has rubber inserts ( I assume for vibration dampening) that tore out. I was not riding hard or anything very technical. To make matters worse, the GPSMAP66 automatically shuts off when disconnecting from external power (like this mount provides) so I could not track it via the inreach tracking.I am very disappointed and would urge you to find an alternative mounting solution if you plan to use this on anything that moves.Update: I added washers that fit exactly inside the recessed holes and used the thickest screws possible (after removing the rubber inserts). See last two photos. Removes all the vibration dampening but at least it does not fall off anymore. Upgraded to two stars.
• Installed this in our Side x Side, and a double USB charging port, to hold and charge our 66i. Used it for a year now and still very happy with it. Keeps the GPS fully charged, turned on, and usable all the time.
• Works great, perfect fit. The rubber cover for the contacts gets in the way but it’s easy to remove.
